SECOND - Rock Pooling
SECOND - this is a misprint which has not been included in the final edition and has been reduced in price accordingly. Please compare photo 2 with photo 1, which is the original edition. The main difference to the original is that the darkest brown layer, is darker/bolder on the copy, compared to the final edition. There are also a few misprinted grey lines on the child's hair.
Handmade, limited edition linocut showing a child gazing into a rock pool on a pebbly beach.
This is an original linocut, handprinted from my home workshop in North Devon. It is a twelve-layer reduction print - which is a method of printmaking where only one block of lino is used to print from. You cut away more from the block each time and then print on top of the previous colour.
Details
- Image size is approx 20 x 25cm, plus generous border to allow for framing.
- Limited edition of 15
- Each print is numbered and signed by myself on the front of the artwork.
- Oil based printmakers ink, on 300gsm acid-free printmakers paper.
- Reduction printing technique.
Please note, I have tried my best to photograph the artwork in such a way that its true colours come across, but please be aware that colour will vary slightly from screen to screen. Also, since this work is handprinted, there are natural variances and minor imperfections in each print, which adds to the handmade charm and unique nature of the linocut.
