SECOND - Furze Along the Coast Path
SECOND - this has a slight misprint in the sky in two places, where a small bit of ink ended up where it wasn't supposed to! It was not included in the final edition and has been reduced in price accordingly. Please compare photo 2 with photo 1, which is the original edition. Photos 3 and 4 show close ups of the small misprints.
Handmade, limited edition linocut of the spectacular gorse bushes (or 'furze') along the South West Coast Path in North Devon. This was inspired by an Easter stroll with my family along near Bull Point lighthouse, not far from Woolacombe.
This is an original linocut, handprinted from my home workshop in North Devon. It is a twelve-layer reduction print - which is a method of printmaking where only one block of lino is used to print from. You cut away more from the block each time and then print on top of the previous colour.
Please note, I have tried my best to photograph the artwork in such a way that its true colours come across, but please be aware that colour will vary slightly from screen to screen. Also, since this work is handprinted, there are natural variances and minor imperfections in each print, which adds to the handmade charm and unique nature of the linocut.
