Little White Fishing Village
Handmade, limited edition linocut - “Little White Fishing Village”. Inspired by the picturesque fishing village of Appledore in North Devon, described as the “Little white fishing village” by Charles Kingsley in his novel “Westward Ho!”
This is an original linocut, handprinted from my home workshop in North Devon. It is an 11-layer reduction print - which is a method of printmaking where only one block of lino is used to print from. You cut away more from the block each time and then print on top of the previous colour.
Details
- Image size is approx 18 x 25cm, plus generous border to allow for framing.
- Limited edition of 26
- Each print is numbered and signed by myself on the front of the artwork.
- Oil based printmakers ink, on 300gsm acid-free printmakers paper.
- Reduction printing technique.
Please note, I have tried my best to photograph the artwork in such a way that its true colours come across, but please be aware that colour will vary slightly from screen to screen. Also, since this work is handprinted, there are natural variances and minor imperfections in each print, which adds to the handmade charm and unique nature of the linocut.Framing
-If you choose the "unframed" option, the print will arrive unframed and unmounted, packaged in a cellophane sleeve, backed with acid free mount board.
- If you choose the "framed" option, the print will arrive in a white, wooden frame, as pictured in the third photo. The frame has a subtle wood grain texture (see fourth photo) and is fitted with D-rings and chord - ready for hanging. It is fronted with anti-reflective art-glass.
